Celebrate Health Care Week at St. Mary’s Hospital

May 08, 2024 02:13 PM - Health Care Week is an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the important roles our health care team members play in carrying out the Mission, Vision and Values at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. Together, we use our unique individual skills, experience, passion, and sense of purpose to fulfill our shared Mission in a profound way – which is the inspiration for this year’s theme “My Purpose – Our Mission.”

We have planned a number of activities and invite you to join the celebration!

Fill Out the “My Why” Sign and Take a Photo

• What drives your passion for patient care or compels you to fulfill the mission of SSM Health? Write it down and show everyone what motivates you!
• Use the sign template to write your “Why” and take a photo with a group of co-workers holding your signs.
• Email your photos to adam.moss@ssmhealth.com and we will share them on social media.
• Hang your “My Why” sign in the Garden Level employee elevator area. Painter’s tape will be provided.

Group Photo Opportunities

• Monday, May 13 at 2:00 p.m. on the Grand Staircase - Fill out your “My Why” sign and bring it for the photo.
• Wednesday, May 15 at 1:00 p.m. on the Grand Staircase - Wear green to support Mental Health Awareness Month and come for the photo.

Monday, May 13 - Motivation Monday

• Words of encouragement while delivering fruit and breakfast bars.
• Group photo with “My Why” sign at 2:00 p.m. on the Grand Staircase.
• Chalk art at the Employee Entrance by the art class from Capital City High School.

Tuesday, May 14 - Tasty Tuesday

• St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary will hand out ice cream to staff in the Café from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• “Connect with your Heart, Change your Life” virtual event at 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Wednesday, May 15 - Backyard BBQ

• The Backyard BBQ will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 9:00 to 10:30 p.m. in the Cafe. Plan to enjoy a meal with your co-workers.
• Wear green to support Mental Health Awareness Month. (Dress code applies.) A group photo will be taken at 1:00 p.m. on the Grand Staircase.
• Staff enjoy 20% off in the Gift Shop.

Thursday, May 16 - Blessings and Coffee

• Coffee Bar at the Garden Level employee entrance from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Coffee baskets will be provided for off-site locations.
• Blessing of Hands Friday, May 17 - Spirit Day
• Spirit Day: Wear jeans in good repair (no holes) with a SSM Health logo shirt.

Saturday, May 18 - Morning Breakfast

• Donuts delivered to the floors as a token of appreciation.
